A Night OF Submissions: VFC Fight Night Coco Key-RL Hotel

Returning to Omaha, NE Victory Fighting Championship hosted a VFC Fight Night featuring some of the top amateur fighters in the Midwest, followed by several professional bouts headlining the main card. Taking place at Coco key ā€“ RL Hotel the Midwest crowd witnessed a night full of excitement with most of the card ending in submissions.

Making his professional debut Micah Peatrowsky faced off against a heavy-handed opponent in James Reed. With the fight starting off with high intensity James Reed came out swinging, landing shots relentlessly in the opening seconds of round one. Micah kept his composer and took the fight to the ground where he could free himself from Reed and begin to slip his arm under the neck of his opponent to force a tap out.

Following the co-main event, hometown favorite Seth Bass rose to the occasion stepping into the square cage to face off against Jeremiah Deever in the main event. Seth Bass was able to control where the fight took place. With a heavy body slam then standing back to his feet, he welcomed Jeremiah to stand and trade with him. At 1:35 in the 2nd round Seth Bass took the back of Jeremiah Deever and was persistent in achieving the submission. Seth Bass takes home the win via rear naked choke.

In the featured bout of the undercard, Dillion Cox defeated Carlos Wooland to become the Victory Fighting Championship Amateur Flyweight champion. Early in round one, Dillion scores a takedown that lands Carlos up against the cage. Attempting an armbar from the bottom Carlos really put the pressure on to end the fight, but Dillion Cox defends the submission and transitions away from the threat to find himself in a position where he takes hold of the neck of Carlos and wins via guillotine choke in the first round.

Jeff Molina and Nate Smith would go the distance in an all out brawl. Both men showcasing some heavy ground and pound and striking on the feet it was tied 1-1 going into the 3rd round. Leading on the score cards, it was Nate Smith that is awarded the victory via split decision.

With other bouts ending via submission, we have the likes of Brett Holmberg ending his bout in round 3, via rear naked choke against Cole Heanu after an exciting fight to start the event. Brad Ragan with only one second to spare, put the pressure on a triangle choke to earn his victory in round one over Nate Morrow. Then we saw Kam Jordan take the fight to the third round against a durable Austin Gowen, but ultimately could work in a rear naked choke.
